Is it really true that the power of life and death is in the tongue?
PROV 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Confession has been put in a bad light by certain denominations. They have made it a focus for prosperity and healing (which is the will of God by the way) and neglected the most important things like your relationship with God, prosperity of the soul and your own spiritual growth and strength. Not all have done this, but enough to put a bad taste in the mouth for a lot of Christians.
Don’t let this be a stumbling block for you. For every truth there is a road. On each side of the road there are ditches. One ditch is excess and abuse. The other ditch is avoidance.
You can never go wrong by saying what God has already said about you. The promises of God are “yes and amen.” By speaking the Word over your life and circumstances you begin to create an image of how God sees you.
Confession is vitally important. Don’t run into the ditch of avoidance and neglect it. Empower youself to see you the way God sees you. By saying what He said, you give life to your spirit and you become what He wants you to be…HIS IMAGE!
