~ The Law Of Life ~

Romans 8:2 ~ 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. (NKJV)

These are the two Spiritual laws that govern everything. We must choose what law to live under.

In 1908 Dr. John G. Lake was on a missionary trip to Africa when the bubonic plague broke out killing many people. He cared for and prayed for the sick as well as help bury the dead.

Britain sent a relief ship with medical supplies and a corps of doctors to help. When they encountered Mr. Lake they asked him, “What protective equipment have you been using?”

“Sirs,” Lake replied, “ I believe that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. And as long as I walk in the light of that law of life, no disease or no germ will attach itself to me.”

The doctors urged him to use their protective measures and Lake refused. Instead proposed an experiment for the doctors to perform on him. Lake said to take some of the foam from the lungs of a deceased plague victim and examine them under a microscope and observe the living plague cells. He then put the foam in his hand and the doctors watched the plague cells die before there eyes. Needless  to say they were amazed! Dr. Lake told them, “That is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:1-4 ~ 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (NKJV)
