~ Having Faith To Move Your Mountains ~

I am totally convinced that speaking God‘s word consistently WILL bring change to your life. You could not beat it out of me! You have the ability to shape your future with the words that you are speaking today. You should be declaring today the things that you desire tomorrow. If you have mountains in your life that you want removed, do what the bible says; TALK TO IT.

Job 22:28 ~ Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

You don’t just establish something overnight, it takes consistency. You must discipline yourself to speak the truth of God’s word on a regular basis. I believe that this is the key to have faith confessions work for you.

Proverbs 18:21 ~ Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Your words have power, so don’t forget to keep the power turned up, and not just turned up, but turned up and tuned in on the right channel! The channel of faith, success and blessing, not the channel of doubt, failure and unbelief.

Consistency is the one factor that will always poke a hole right in the devils kingdom, he has no defense against a man or woman who will speak the truth of the word and be consistent. Consistency is a force that can be effective in many ways.

If you make a decision to confess God’s word consistently, and not just “try it” for a few days or a few weeks, you will see the truth of God’s word establish strongholds of faith in your life and God’s power will begin to be evident. To remove the mountains in your life and establish strongholds of truth and a depth of faith that no devil in hell can possibly breach, you MUST lead a lifestyle of speaking God’s word. It is the “Spirit Of Faith” Romans 4:17

To establish truth in your life, you have to keep after it, no matter what you see, and no matter what your situation looks like.

Consistent confession produces the faith to move your mountains.

What Jesus said about the removal of mountains:

Mark 11:23 ~  23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

According to Jesus, the way to remove mountains is to speak to them. No bulldozer, no dynamite, just that little opening right under your nose, your mouth.

Christians in general, have a misconception of what this verse means, and it sets them up for disappointment a discouragement.

The picture that most believers have in their mind is of  a person walking up to a mountain, standing with feet spread apart, pointing a finger at the mountain, and yelling “be thou removed and cast into the sea in the name of Jesus.” Then the earth shakes, the mountain splits, and with a great explosion is hurled into the sea. Then the person walks away with a little strut in there step and says “now that’s faith folks, and that’s how its done.”

Now, I’m not saying that it cannot happen like that, it has , and it still can. But the truth of the matter is, that for most people, most of the time, after speaking to the mountain, the mountain is still there. This is the point where most Christians lose heart and faint.

Then the devil comes and tells them that “this faith stuff is for the birds. You know it works for brother and sister so and so, but it will never work for you.” And the devil beats them before they ever get started.

Let me paint a different picture for you, one that is a little more realistic.

You walk out your door one morning and you see this huge mountain looming in front of you. You point to the mountain and say with authority “mountain be removed in the name of  Jesus Christ and be cast into the sea!” And the mountain does not move. You get your bible out, you look up half a dozen scriptures that tell you that you HAVE BEEN REDEEMED from this particular mountain and you speak them out loud and declare that you receive that promise from the Lord.

You get up the next morning and you see that the mountain is still there, but you are not moved by what you see because you’re a person of faith and you are standing on the unchangeable authority of the word of God. You speak to the mountain again. “Mountain I said you are removed in the name of Jesus Christ cast into the sea. You are removed from my life according to the word of God.” The mountain doesn’t move. So you go to work and come back and the mountain is still there.

Two months go by and you are speaking to that mountain every day, you’ve posted sticky notes of all the scriptures that you are standing on all over the house and yet you still see no change. Six months go by with you still speaking to that mountain and you don’t see any difference at all.

Then one day your friend stops by and says, “ Did you know that the mountain outside your door is only half the size it was six months ago?” You just smile and keep right on speaking to the mountain every day. A few more weeks go by and you’re coming home from work and you see a bunch of people surveying that mountain so you stop to ask,  “what’s going on?” The surveyor says, “something funny is going on inside this mountain, the ground is shifting and we can’t figure out why.” You just smile and drive away, and that’s when the Lord gives you a song in your heart about the mountain being removed.

So the days roll by and you just keep speaking to that mountain, calling those things that are not manifest as if they are already done, and eventually the mountain erodes away, is washed into the small creeks and then into the bigger rivers, and from the rivers, is washed into the sea.

Welcome to the real world!

Just because you’ve tried faith confessions for six weeks and you don’t see any results, that doesn’t mean that nothing is taking place.

You released creative power the fist time you spoke the word, the creative power that builds faith in the human spirit. The power  to establish a mighty stronghold of faith in your own heart.

Before you see any manifestations in the physical realm, you must first get the word established in your heart. The heart is the first place that you will notice results from confessing truth. Things are always won in the spirit before you see a manifestation in the natural realm.

Proverbs 18:20 ~ 20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

When Proverbs talks about the belly, its not talking about the place you stuff food in three times a day. Its talking about the core of your being. Its talking about the inner man, the heart, your spirit.

If you can be diligent enough to speak God’s word until your own heart is filled, no devil in hell can keep you from obtaining the promise of God.

Satan wants to do one of two things, to keep you out of faith. He wants to either starve you or poison you. I hate to give Satan any credit, but he has done a fair job of both. I see people all the time that have great potential, they even know the word, but they don’t take the time to keep themselves filled, so they walk around starved in their spirit.

And then I see other folks that are constantly filling themselves, but they fill up on poison, bad doctrine, and half-truths, and they are just as bad, if not worse, than the first bunch.

Hebrews 11:6 ~ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

What pleases God is faith, plain and simple. And the time that it takes each day to build  faith in your heart, is a small price to pay to please Him.

Just sayin~ JC

Are We Really The New Testament Church?

Are We
REALLY The New Testament Church?

If we look at the Model of the New Testament Church in the book of Acts and the epistles, we see a big discrepancy in what we see in scripture and what we are experiencing today. Why is that? Have you ever wondered? Are you satisfied with this huge discrepancy?

I for one am NOT satisfied. I can see the model. I can see the possibilities and I know that the Lord Jesus Christ had a different idea of how HIS BODY should function. That may be the key word, “function.” The body of Christ for the most part is in dysfunction. Most Christians that would read this would agree, yet at the same time they would deny that this applies to them, and therein lies the problem.

You see, we live in an age where virtually anything you need to know is just a few mouse clicks away. So we fill our heads up with knowledge until we are able to talk intelligently on any given subject in the bible and we equate that with us gaining revelation, experiencing spiritual growth, and developing in maturity. IT IS A LIE!

Revelation only comes by the anointing. Spiritual growth comes by you functioning in the anointing for a period of time. Maturity only comes by being a doer of the word of God and continued pursuit of Gods purpose and His will for your life.

There are two types of people to consider. The first are Christians that can talk, expound and teach on any given subject in the bible. They can teach you about the gifts of the Spirit, how to be led by the Spirit, how to pray and how faith works and why it isn’t working for you. The problem is: they have no experience in the things that they “know” so in reality all they have is a theory on Christianity. These are the people who think they know what it is to be a
mature Christian, they are SURE they know and will even lay down their life for it.

This is the difference between mental apprehension of things IN the Word and a REVELATION OF THE WORD, Jesus Christ. Until you experience some of the wonderful, amazing things that we read about in the early church you are seriously lacking in spiritual development and understanding. I am talking about laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover, seeing miracles, seeing people delivered from demons, and yes, raising people from the dead. Supernatural signs and wonders, the demonstration of the Spirit that confirms God’s word, and lets not forget good old fashion repentance. According to Hebrews 6 these are foundational doctrines.

Hebrews 6:1-3 ~ 1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3And this will we do, if God permit.

If  these are foundational doctrine, why don’t we see more of it in the church? Is it because we have built the church on little or no foundation? We should be modeling what we see in the New Testament … ALL OF IT!

The thing is, we only know what WE know. The goal is to know what HE knows and until we “function” as HIS body, operating in the gifts of the Spirit, healing the sick, working miracles, raising the dead etc. We just don’t know much. We surely don’t know HIM as He wants to be known. It will take some faith in Him to really know Him. We are HIS body, we should be doing the same things He did as He walked this earth AS A MAN! Which brings me to the second type of person.

The second type of person you can read about in the Gospels. His Name is Jesus Christ and THAT, my friends, IS OUR MODEL. All we have to do … is believe on HIM.

John 14:12 ~  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these
shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

~ Love, The 4 Part Harmony ~

I was rocking back and forth in my chair with my eyes closed as I was listening to the last song on my favorite worship tape. I had been singing to the Lord and praising Him  for almost an hour and His presence filled the room. The tape ended and I was  smiling from the inside out as I enjoyed the sweet silence and communion with  my master. Tears of joy were running down my cheeks and my heart was so full of emotion that I wasn’t quite sure how to express it.

With eyes still closed and the tears now flowing I said “Lord I love you so much”. He then spoke to my heart very distinctly, “How much do you love me, Jack”?  “I love you with all my heart, Lord”. He said “Jack that is not enough”.

My eyes popped open and I realized that God was trying to show me something. When God asks a question, He is obviously not looking for information. He then brought to my remembrance the passage in Mark 12:30 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

I saw instantly that loving God with all my heart was only one-fourth of the love commandment. One fourth…25%! I thought to myself, “Man that is weak”. I began to consider what it might mean to love the Lord with my mind and my soul, and how to love Him with strength and realized that I really wasn’t sure. I asked the Lord to teach me how to love Him with these other parts of my being and He began to open my eyes and show me what true love really is.

After the Lord’s correction on how I loved Him, I began to pray and ask questions. “How do I love you with my mind and soul Lord”? I realized that the first thing to do was to define love as the bible teaches it so I took some time and really solidified what love is in my understanding. Immediately I began to see that my ignorance and the church’s ignorance on this topic was glaringly obvious.

Without going in to exhaustive word studies, hermeneutics and exegesis I will just rely on the printed text. You see it is very simple. God is love.

1 John 4:8 ~  He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love.

Love is a 4 part harmony, and when all four parts are expressed in fullness I begin to understand more of who God really is…..and more of who I am.

We see in Romans that He has put inside us everything we need to properly respond to Him with love. He has put His own nature, His character, the essence of His being inside us, giving us every opportunity and every necessary tool to connect with Him in intimate relationship.

Romans 5:5 ~  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

This love He has placed inside us has many qualities and characteristics, which is expressed in 1 Corinthians 13, the famous “love chapter”. But you will notice that the chief characteristic of love is giving.

John 3:16 ~ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Love is not merely a feeling or an emotion, although it will produce both. Love is a commitment of devotion that is directed by our will. Love is an action word. Not just a noun but also a verb. Love does, love doesn’t just say. Love invests. Love thinks of giving first before any thought of receiving.

So now we must realize that to love God with the mind, soul, and strength, we have to figure out how to give those parts of ourselves to Him. This is a long teaching so I will just leave you with a few thoughts to get the gears turning in your mind. You will be able to figure out the rest.

I find it interesting the soul and mind are separated in the text. I was always taught that the soul was the seat of the mind, will, and emotions, yet here they are separate. Here are the words as defined in the original text:

1) the heart ~ (kardia)

Denotes the centre and seat of spiritual life, the middle or central or inmost part of anything, even though inanimate.

2) the soul ~ (psychē)

The seat of the feelings, desires, affections, aversions. The (human) soul in so far as it is constituted that by the right use of the aides offered it by God it can attain its highest end, the soul regarded as a moral being designed for everlasting life. The soul as an essence which differs from the body and is not dissolved by death.

 3) Mind ~ (dianoia)

The mind as a faculty of understanding, feeling, desiring, understanding, way of thinking and feeling. Thoughts, either good or bad.

4) Strength ~ (ischys)

Abilities, talents, gifting, force, strength, might.

Since the greatest expression of love is to give, ask yourself this:

Am I giving all of those aspects of my life to God? Am I withholding parts of my life from Him? God has invested in you by putting His love in your heart (Romans 5:5), He expects a great return on His investment.

~Scriptural Illiteracy~

Illiteracy is a huge hinderance on human development, likewise scriptural illiteracy hinders spiritual development. Many Christians are suffering from scriptural illiteracy. They attempt to live a Christian life based on books written about the bible, what people say on Christian radio and TV programs, pastors and friends advice, and posts on Facebook or blogs just like this one. All of these thing have some value but they are only supplements to the real thing: THE BIBLE. We cannot live on supplements alone.

We must be intimately familiar with Gods Word. This is the foundation that we build our lives on. Without this foundation we are incapable of weathering the really tough storms in life. Building a Godly life on the sands of scriptural illiteracy is impossible.

Don’t be deceived into thinking that you can live the Christian life and fulfill Gods purpose without the YOU reading YOUR bible. Realize that the bible is God speaking to you.

A man told me once: “You must have daily exposure to, and intake of Gods Word.” and you know what? He was Right.

Proverbs 4:20-22 ~ 20My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.  21Do not let them depart from your eyes;  Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

~ Establish Truth In Your Heart, Establish It In Your Life ~

I am totally convinced that speaking Gods word consistently WILL bring change to your life. You have the ability to shape your future with the words that you are speaking today. You should be declaring today the things that you desire tomorrow.

Job 22:28  Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Consistency is the one factor that will always poke a hole right in the devils kingdom, he has no defense against a man who will speak the truth of the word and be consistent. Consistency is a spiritual force that can be effective in many areas of your life.

My grandmother is a great example of what consistency can produce. Several years ago ( when she was only seventy six years old ) she had ten large oak trees cut down on her property. When the trees were down and all of the stumps hauled away, she was left with a pile of limbs and sticks that was over 100 ft. long, 50 ft. wide, and 15 ft. tall. I’m talking, “a huge pile of brush.” Well, to make a long story short, she wouldn’t wait till the end of the summer until my uncle came back to haul the pile away. Instead, every day, that whole summer, she would break up some sticks and burn them in a 55 gallon drum. By the time my uncle returned six months later, she was burning the last few sticks that she had raked up. That old woman’s consistency had literally removed a mountain.

If you make a decision to confess Gods word consistently, and not just “try it” for a few days or a few weeks, you will see Gods power begin to remove the mountains in your life and establish strongholds of truth and a depth of faith that no devil in hell can possibly breach.

To establish truth in your life, you have to keep after it, no matter what you see, and no matter what your situation looks like.

Consistent confession produces the faith to move your mountains.

What Jesus said about the removal of mountains:

  Mark 11:23

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

According to Jesus, the way to remove mountains is to speak to them. No bulldozer, no dynamite, just that little opening right under your nose, your mouth.

Christians in general, have a misconception of what this verse means, and

it sets them up for disappointment an discouragement.

The picture that most believers have in there mind is of  a person walking up to a mountain, standing with feet spread apart, pointing a finger at the mountain, and yelling “be thou removed and cast into the sea in the name of Jesus.” Then the earth shakes, the mountain splits, and with a great explosion is hurled into the sea. If you truly want to see change in you life it is going to require some diligence and some perseverance.  (hey, I didn’t say it was going to be easy) You are going to have to take time to know the word. You have to know how to rightly divide the word so that you know what you’re speaking and understand it.

Sometimes it isn’t easy to do what you know pleases the Lord, but the rewards far outweigh the sacrifice.

”What pleases God is faith, plain and simple. And the time that it takes each day to build  faith in your heart, is a small price to pay to please Him.”

Hebrews 11:6

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
