This is a vision I had in October of 2021. The vision was brief but answered an important question I had about the restrainer mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2. Here is the passage.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
The two prevailing beliefs about the restrainer is that it must be either the Church or Holy Spirit. This is what the Lord showed me in this vision.
In a time of prayer I saw this brief vision play out in front of me, it only lasted for about 15 to 20 seconds or so but it was very clear.
I saw an angel facing away from me staring at a peculiar looking object. I was standing slightly behind the angel and to his left. He was wearing a robe that fell to his feet. The robe he wore was a brilliant color, or maybe a multi color that I am not familiar with. The robe had a thick gold band around the entire edge of it. The angel did not look to the right or left. I could only see part of the left side of his face but I could see he was intent on this object that was suspended in the air in front of him. He was bout 6 ft. tall. His gaze was fixed on this peculiar object and his expression was very serious, and very fierce.
This object was approximately 18 inches tall, about 3 feet wide, and 4 to 6 inches thick. much like the shape of a very large domino. It was suspended in the air about 3 feet off the ground. It was rounded on the edges, tan colored, and had some inscription or stamp on it that reminded me of a wax seal stamp or a carving. It almost looked mechanical. I did not understand the inscription on the object.
Directly behind this object, about 15 feet back, was a wall of many contorted and angry faces that I knew were demons. They were acting like racehorses in the starting gate, eager to run. There was a lot of screaming, clamoring, rage, and great noise coming from this wall of demons. The angel paid no attention to the demonic horde, only the object in front of Him.
I then perceived that the object was some kind of seal or memorial that had to do with the number of the gentiles being fulfilled. (Romans 11:25) As I watched the angel staring intently at this object, the object began to disintegrate. First, little pieces like fine dust or sand began to fall from the object to the ground, much like sand from an hourglass. As this began to fall in more volume, the angel turned his back on it and walked quickly away. The object then collapsed completely into dust on the ground and the demonic horde came raging forth.
That was the end of the vision.
I believe either this sand-colored seal or this angel to be the restrainer. The angel is assigned to the specific task of holding back the demonic forces and ensuring that the demonic forces are not to be unleashed during the tribulation until the number of the gentiles is complete.
I know by the Spirit that we are currently in the time when the first bits of sand begin to fall. The number of the gentiles is almost fulfilled. We must strengthen ourselves for what is coming. We will not escape the tribulation. We must reject the lie of a pretribulation rapture. We will not be raptured before it starts as I believed for 33 years. We must strengthen ourselves for what is coming.
